The International Foundation for Medical Innovation actively supports programs to prevent the most common diseases, including initiatives to prevent and treat diabetes. Its complications can be severe, however, modern technologies allow to detect the disease at an early stage, reduce the risk of complications and effectively control the course. In addition, early detection and correction of lifestyle in people with prediabetes can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes to almost zero.
That is why, as part of the prevention program, the Foundation donated 30 modern individual systems for continuous glucose monitoring to the V.P. Komisarenko Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
These systems feature a miniature sensor that is attached to the skin, measures sugar automatically and warns of dangerous fluctuations.
What are the benefits for the patient?
Thus, doctors receive accurate data to adjust treatment, and patients gain confidence in controlling the disease.
We help to improve the quality of life, where technology becomes an assistant.
